MGM Grand Detroit is open and ready to welcome you back, safely!

Nearly 1,700 slots and video poker machines are available, including table games, our Poker room, and the BetMGM Sportsbook. Our restaurants and bars are open for guests to enjoy dining and beverage service daily until 11pm. Per state regulations, restaurant capacity has been reduced to promote social distancing and safety. Our hotel is open and accepting reservations for new arrivals. Our IMMERSE spa, fitness center, pool and MGM & Co. retail shop remain temporarily closed until further notice.

To prepare for your visit, face masks will be required at all times, social distancing will be enforced, and coat check services are unavailable. Please note, at this time COVID-19 vaccines are not considered a special accommodation for our company’s mandatory mask policy. Valet service remains closed, and all guests must enter through the self-park garage. Smoking is prohibited anywhere in the facility, but a designated outdoor smoking area is provided just off the casino floor for your convenience.

Recommended hours for customers in high risk groups are Monday to Friday, 6am to 9am (based on hours with the lowest expected business volumes).

Your Health & Safety Is Our Priority

We are open with numerous health and safety protocols in place to create a cleaner and safer environment, which include:

  • Casino occupancy is restricted to under 30% of our maximum capacity. (We have not had any wait to enter the casino floor.)
  • All team members are temperature checked daily prior to starting work, and guest temperatures taken via thermal camera before entering the casino floor.
  • Smoking is no longer permitted indoors. A designated outdoor smoking area is available near the Poker Room for your convenience.
  • Our HVAC system completely replaces the air in our casino with 100% fresh outdoor air every 4-5 minutes on average, utilizing both MERV-14 and carbon filters and UV light sanitization.
  • Face masks are required for both guests and team members at all times, except when dining at a private table.
  • Table games and slot machines have been configured to allow for appropriate physical distancing between players, with numerous acrylic barriers installed.
  • High touch surfaces including slot machines, tables, and kiosks are cleaned and disinfected regularly. Table games areas are sanitized prior to each player being seated.
  • Nearly 200 hand sanitizing and wipe stations are readily available throughout the property. For your convenience, a central hand washing station has been added on the casino floor.
  • Social distancing is enforced.


The casino floor is open with strict protocols in place for your safety, including physical distancing and enhanced cleaning and sanitization procedures. Per Michigan Gaming Control Board guidelines, table games and slot machines are configured to allow for appropriate physical distancing between players with plexiglass barriers installed in numerous locations. Sports betting is available through BetMGM kiosks located throughout the casino floor or at the BetMGM Sportsbook window. The Poker Room is open 24/7.  Pai-Gow Poker is currently unavailable.

Restaurants & Bars

Please note that per State guidelines, no indoor dining or beverage consumption are permitted after 11pm. Bar and beverage service throughout the casino floor will end nightly at 10pm and resume at 7:30am.

Our restaurants and bars have limited hours and reduced seating to create social distancing. Dining is also limited to a maximum of 6 people per table. Please check each restaurant’s webpage for the latest information. The following venues are open and ready to serve you!

  • D.PRIME Steakhouse (Open for dinner at 4:30pm, Wednesday - Sunday. Advanced reservations strongly recommended; last seating at 9pm.)
  • TAP at MGM Grand Detroit (Open for dinner 4pm, Friday - Tuesday. Last seating at 9:45pm.)
  • National Coney Island (Located inside Breeze Dining Court. Open for lunch & dinner daily 11am - 3am; carryout only after 10pm.)
  • Detroit Wing Company (Located inside Breeze Dining Court. Open for dinner daily 6pm - 12am; carryout only after 10pm.)
  • Red Sauce (Located inside Breeze Dining Court. Open for dinner Wednesday- Sunday 7pm - 2am; carryout only after 10pm.)
  • Roasted Bean (Open for coffee, pastries & sandwiches daily 8am - 4pm.)
  • Casino Video Poker Bar (Open daily at 7:30am.)
  • AXIS Lounge (Video poker bar and lounge open daily at 8am. No live entertainment until further notice.)
  • BetMGM Sports Lounge (Sports viewing area open daily at 10am. Video poker bar open at 3:30pm Monday - Friday and 12pm Saturday - Sunday.)
  • V Outer Bar (Video poker bar open at 2:30pm, Thursday - Sunday.)

Per governmental order, alcoholic beverages can only be ordered and consumed while you are seated. In our restaurants, you may remove your face mask while dining, but must put your mask back on anytime you leave your table.

Hotel, Spa & Retail

Our hotel and IMMERSE spa are open and accepting reservations for new arrivals. Our fitness center, pool, locker rooms and MGM & Co. retail shop remain temporarily closed until further notice. MGM Grand Detroit welcomes guests 21 years of age or older. Spa guests 18-20 years of age must be dropped off at Hotel Valet to gain entry.


Due to regulatory order, valet parking is temporarily closed and building entry is available only via the self-park garage. Complimentary self-park continues to be offered at MGM Grand Detroit.
